“We all fear death and question our place in the universe. The artist job is not to succumb to despair but to find an antidote for the emptiness of existence and to have a clear voice. Don’t be a defeatist in your being. Find your soul and live with passion.”
Tonight I was sitting with my little girl thinking just how wonderful it is to be a father to this little munchkin that actually loves me and her mother so unconditionally. Hey at 18 months she even gives me a butterfly kiss with out even asking for it. AWESOME! That smile of hers is so infectious and the feeling of her love just flows through me. All I can do is smile and smile and smile again when she looks at me and says Papa-a-a-a-a-a-a. Well I got my hug and kiss good night tonight and I was thinking to myself how on earth do allow her to grow up loving live and loving herself. I want her to know she is a beautiful person and her beauty will run deep within her for ever as long as she believes beauty is every where.
I think this is what really inspires me when I take pictures of people, and nature or what ever else it is. I find beauty in everything. What is it that other people are inspired by when they take pictures? I do not know so I started looking around the net and came across the Dove Soap Beauty Sketches Campaign and all I can say is WOW! I love it!
In one of the most famous Dove films, Real Beauty Sketches explores the gap between how others perceive us and how we perceive ourselves. Each woman is the subject of two portraits drawn by FBI-trained forensic artist Gil Zamora: one based on her own description, and the other using a stranger’s observations. The results are surprising…
I sit and watch these videos I get truly inspired emotionally deep down. I think to myself what in the world does the world think about me? I really do appreciate thing little things in life, and yet I find myself always trying to pass on that little bit of my heart to all the people that are accepting on a smile, or kind words, or happiness, inspiration and so forth. I rarely see the ugly in people and I think that is what is my inspiration in taking images for people. I love it when and client sees pictures I shot of them (and they are usually super self critical) and says wow is that me? It really happened on one of my first big shoots for a dancer and she saw herself in the way I saw her and tears started to roll down her face. I was taken back at first and said, “oh I am sorry you do not like them. She responded saying no no I love them. I never thought anyone saw me this way.” All I can say is I saw an angel within her. When I saw the videos above it really reminded me that this is what I believe in when I shoot. Show the world how you see it Sean. Show them the Peace, Calmness, and Serenity you feel when snapping the picture. Show the world the little bits you want them to see. They may never have a chance or even take to chance to venture out of their comfort zone. I think most of all that in this day and age it is even more important to share our kindness and positive vibes with others because you never know who really might depend on that little bit of kindness from you.
