In life I have been really fortunate watching and learning so much from others. A long time ago when I was fourteen I met this lady at the Canadian National Championships in Victoria, British Colombia. Her name is Isabelle Brasseur and she is a Canadian National Champion, World Champion and Two-Time Olympic Bronze Medalist. This lady has some hard wear to carry around her shoulders. I watched and admired her in the competition arena for years then found myself training with her in Montreal with her amazing skating partner and one of the skaters that I looked up to named Lloyd Eisler. They were a formidable team that did some of the most amazing lifts in the world and still even today most people cannot touch them. Unbelievabley talented athletes that worked so hard all their careers.
Over time, Jodeyne and I got to go full circle to find ourselves skating once again on the same ice with Isa at Season 1 on the hit tv show called Battle of the Blades that was produced and filmed in Toronto by CBC and Insight Productions. It was a wonderful experience to be out on the ice with a cast of skaters that we competed with at the Worlds, many National Championships and International Competitions. Isa and I have a lot of great history together. The memories that I have from the World Championships in 1993 representing Canada on the same team, and being there to witness Isa and Lloyd skating to win their first World title together. Man did I cheer loud.
So one day at Blades Isa asked me if I would do a shoot with her and her family to create images for the Canadian Olympic Association and also the Montreal Gazette. Yes man, was going on in my mind but better yet I was like I get to shoot with Isa (My Hero). During a little break we went for a nice walk in Toronto and got some great shots. Then we met up with her husband Rocky, her daughter Gabriella and Grandma to get some family photos. I was incredibly honored to have been able to shoot these pics of her and her family. Thank you so much Isa for the opportunity to shoot with you and your family you have been a true inspiration to us and thank you for all you have done for our sport of Figure Skating.
Please enjoy the pics and have a wonderful day. Life is good when I am behind the lens and on the ice. Oh one last thing ISA YOUR SO CUTE! Big Hug!
Peace Tiny x
